Relocation to Lagos; continuous improvement part 1

Everyone here has been involved in relocation. After all you made it to Houston. The big difference is that the movement is either to US (A lot of congratulations, less shipment) or to Lagos (A lot of Na waao; how time flies, lots of loads).

When you Arrive Houston:(history); Don't buy house if you are not sure you will be here for long say four years or that your family will continue to use the house when you are gone. All those equity story may not work for a short stay. This is personal opinion.

When you are buying those cars on credit; I will recommend two years. If you are suddenly made a supervisor or a project manager in Lagos, you will need to pay off at once the remaining balance on the cars especially. Other properties will go with you as they don't need titles.

When you are buying those house hold stuffs: Keep inventory of the items you have and their values. During shipment, you will find out that preparing the inventory can be a night mare. If you have a spreadsheet containing those information, you will feel terrific.

During packing: Be very nice to the loaders (Soda and Pizza). They will even pack your house. Make sure you remove anything you don't want to pack. If you leave your passport, it will be loaded into the container. Remember your cable remote controls and DVRs; they can be shipped before you realize it.

More stories to come ....
